Year 5/6 History: Tudor Crime and Punishment Comes to Life!

As part of their History topic this week, Year 5/6 pupils explored the fascinating — and sometimes gruesome — world of Tudor crime and punishment through drama and role play.

Working in small groups, the children brought historical facts to life by acting out scenes based on real punishments and laws from Tudor times. Each group collaborated to dramatise their information, showing fantastic creativity and teamwork.

Throughout the activity, pupils demonstrated our Torch Values of Cooperation and Respect — listening carefully to each other’s ideas, sharing roles, and supporting one another during their performances. The presentations to the class were both entertaining and educational, helping everyone understand the harsh realities of justice in Tudor England.

It was a brilliant way to combine history with performance, and the children should be proud of their thoughtful and respectful approach. Well done, Year 5/6!
