Year 3/4 Kindness week

This week, Year 3 and 4 took part in the Primitas Trust Behaviour Focus Week, with the theme of Kindness. As a class, we spent time discussing what kindness really means and what it means to each of us. While we had some different ideas, we all agreed that kindness is about being helpful, caring, respectful, and thinking about others’ feelings.

The children then thought about how they could show kindness to their family members in the run-up to Christmas—a time that can be very busy and stressful for adults. They came up with some brilliant ideas, such as:

  • Helping with tidying up at home
  • Offering to wrap presents or write cards
  • Being patient and understanding when things get hectic

We also explored ways to be kinder to each other in school, like sharing, listening, and offering help when someone is stuck.

This activity helped the children understand that kindness isn’t just about big gestures—it’s about small, thoughtful actions that make a big difference. It was wonderful to see such great teamwork and thoughtful discussions as they explained their ideas and reasons to each other.

Well done, Year 3 and 4, for showing that kindness really is the key to making our school and homes happier places!
