Year 3/4 Explore the Pros and Cons of the Internet

In today’s ICT lesson, our Year 3/4 pupils took part in a thoughtful discussion about the pros and cons of the internet. The children impressed us with their fantastic ideas and showed great awareness of how the internet plays a role in our everyday lives—from learning and communication to entertainment and shopping.

While they found it easy to talk about the many benefits of the internet, such as quick access to information and staying connected with others, they also worked hard to consider the negatives, including online safety and screen time. This part of the discussion was more challenging, but the children showed maturity and respect as they listened to each other’s views and understood that it’s okay to disagree.

Working in groups, they demonstrated excellent teamwork and used their Torch Value of Respect throughout the lesson. It was a brilliant session that helped build digital awareness and critical thinking. Well done, Year 3/4!
