Year 3/4 English Iron man descriptions
Our Year 3 and 4 pupils have been diving into the world of imagination during an exciting English writing session! Using The Iron Man by Ted Hughes as inspiration, the children explored how to create vivid character descriptions for their very own Iron Giants.
They began by designing their own giants, thinking carefully about all the different ways to describe how their creations look, move, sound, and behave. From towering metal figures with glowing eyes to gentle giants with surprising quirks, the ideas were truly fantastic!
The session was full of teamwork and creativity. Pupils shared their ideas with each other, explaining why they chose certain characteristics and listening to their classmates’ suggestions. This collaborative approach helped everyone refine their descriptions and think more deeply about their characters.
Next, the children will use these brilliant ideas to write detailed character descriptions that bring their Iron Giants to life on the page. We can’t wait to see the finished pieces!
Great work, Year 3 and 4 – your creativity and teamwork were outstanding!
