Year 2 Explore Germs in a Hands-On Science Lesson

Year 2 recently took part in a fascinating and practical science lesson on how germs spread—and it was both educational and lots of fun!

Using glue and glitter, the children were able to see just how easily germs can transfer from one person to another through touch. The glitter acted as a visual representation of germs, helping the children understand why handwashing is so important in keeping ourselves and others healthy.

The experiment sparked lots of curiosity and discussion, and the children had a great time taking part. They learned:

• How germs can spread quickly through contact.
• Why washing hands thoroughly is essential.
• How science can be fun and interactive!

It was a brilliant session that combined learning with play, and helped reinforce important hygiene habits in a memorable way.
