Year 2 Art & Geography: Animals from Around the World

This week, our Year 2 pupils combined their art and geography skills to create animals from the seven continents of the world. Using their carefully planned designs, each child chose an animal and brought it to life using a variety of materials — one group even made a turtle using tissue paper and other creative resources!

Last week, the children painted their backgrounds, and this week they matched their animals to contrasting environments. If their animal came from a hot continent, they chose a cold-coloured background, and vice versa — helping them explore colour theory and geographical climates in a fun and imaginative way.

This exciting project will continue over the next few weeks, and we can’t wait to see the final displays. Well done, Year 2 — your creativity and global thinking are shining through!
