Year 1 Maths: Comparing Numbers with Confidence
This week in Maths, our Year 1 pupils have been learning how to compare numbers using important mathematical language such as greater than, less than, and equal to. The children also practised using the symbols <, >, and = to show their understanding.
To support their learning, pupils used manipulatives to build and represent numbers in different ways. This hands-on approach helped them visualise the comparisons and deepened their understanding of number relationships.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and confident in their learning. Well done, Year 1 — fantastic maths thinking!
