Year 1 have proudly completed their Design and Technology project by creating their very own fruit salads! After several weeks of exploring different fruits, tasting new flavours, and designing their ideal combinations, the children finally put their plans into action.

Each child selected the fruits they enjoyed most during the tasting sessions and carefully prepared them using the cutting skills they have been learning. It was wonderful to see how confidently and safely they used their tools, showing great independence and focus.

This project has helped the children learn about:

• Making healthy food choices
• Following a design plan
• Using tools safely and correctly
• Building fine motor skills through cutting and preparation
• Trying new tastes and textures

What a fantastic learning experience it has been—full of creativity, new skills, and plenty of enthusiasm. And of course, the best part for the children was getting to eat their delicious fruit salads at the end!
