Exploring Cool and Warm Colours in Year 1 Art

In this week’s art lesson, Year 1 have been learning all about warm and cool colours — and what a creative session it was! The children explored how colours can make us feel different things, with cool colours like blues and greens creating calm, peaceful backgrounds.

Using paintbrushes of different sizes, the children practised careful brush control, learning how to paint neatly within the lines and choose the right tools for the job. Their focus and attention to detail were fantastic!

This lesson helped the children to understand the difference between warm and cool colours and develop fine motor skills and brush technique. Well done, Year 1 — your artwork was amazing!
