Year 1/2 Learn About Nursing With a Special Visitor

This week, Year 1/2 were very lucky to have a visit from Nurse Sam, who came to talk to the children about her important job as a nurse. She explained the many different roles she carries out each day and showed the children some of the special equipment she uses, including a stethoscope and real X‑rays.

The children were fascinated to see how nurses help people and enjoyed asking questions about the tools and responsibilities involved in the job. They were especially excited to compare what they learned from Nurse Sam with the work of the famous nurses they have been studying in their history topic: Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole.

This visit helped the children make strong links between their history learning and the real world, showing them how caring for others has changed — and how some things have stayed the same.

A big thank you to Nurse Sam for giving the children such an inspiring and memorable experience!
