Student Council Elections 2026!
We are excited to announce that Student Council Elections will take place during the week of 23rd February 2026. This is a brilliant opportunity for pupils to develop confidence, leadership, and a strong voice within our school community.
During Key Stage assemblies, Mrs Kirby spoke to the children about what the Student Council does and how important their role is in helping to make positive changes across the school.
Who Can Stand?
Children from Year 1 to Year 6 are invited to take part in the elections.
This year, we are making an exciting change:
🔹 Instead of electing class representatives, we will be choosing Year Group Representatives.
🔹 In Year 5 and Year 6, we will elect two pupils from each year group. As the oldest children in school, they will also receive special training to help organise and run the School Council meetings.
How to Take Part
If your child would like to stand for election, they will need to prepare a short speech or presentation at home. This will be shared during their year group’s election session.
Their speech should include:
- Who they are
- Why they would like to be on the School Council
- Any ideas they have to help make our school an even better place
We encourage the children to speak clearly, be confident, and—most importantly—be themselves!
This is their chance to share their voice and show how they can represent their year group with pride and enthusiasm.
Good luck to everyone taking part — we can’t wait to hear your fantastic ideas!
Each Year group will hold the elections and then have a private sealed voting box - just like they do for council or parliamentary elections.
