KS1 launched National Storytelling Week with a fantastic live lesson based on the story I Am Nefertiti. The children were completely engaged as they explored the characters, themes, and emotions within the story.

After the lesson, pupils took part in drama activities where they used freeze frames to show how different characters might have been feeling at key moments in the story. This helped the children deepen their understanding of emotions, empathy, and expression — all through creative storytelling.

The session is part of our wider National Year of Reading celebrations, designed to inspire a love of books, stories, and imagination across the school.
