Kindness Week at Holly Grove – Filling Buckets with Kindness
This week at Holly Grove, we have been celebrating Kindness Week, focusing on the importance of being kind to ourselves and others.
We started by listening to the story “Have You Filled Your Bucket?” by Carol McCloud, which helped us think about the different ways we can “fill each other’s buckets” with kindness. We all agreed that we don’t want to be dippers—kindness makes everyone feel good!
Throughout the week, children have been given kindness cards in class whenever someone was spotted doing something kind. It’s been wonderful to see so many acts of kindness happening across the school. Some parents even sent messages to tell us how their children have been showing kindness at home—how amazing is that?
One pupil summed it up perfectly:
“Being kind makes people happy—and that makes me happy too!”
Kindness is so important in school because it helps us create a safe, caring environment where everyone feels valued and respected. When we are kind to each other, we build friendships, confidence, and a positive atmosphere for learning.
Well done to all our Holly Grove bucket fillers—you’ve made this week truly special!
