Bridging Generations Through Books: Holly Grove’s Reading Project Begins!
Inter-Generational Reading Project Launches at Holly Grove
For the past few months, we’ve been working closely with local councillor Sue Woodward on a very special reading initiative. Thanks to funding from Lichfield District Council, we’ve been able to hire the Chase Terrace Community Centre once a month to host inter-generational reading sessions.
Each month, a small group of Holly Grove pupils will visit the centre to share stories and read alongside older members of our local community. Last week marked our first session, and it was a huge success! The smiles and laughter said it all—everyone had a brilliant time enjoying books and conversation together.
A massive thank you to Sue Woodward, the Community Centre team, and the wonderful Coffee Club for making this possible. We can’t wait for next month’s session!
